Nathan Kim is a Los Angeles-based movement artist, choreographer, director, and filmmaker originally from Maui, Hawaii. His practice is rooted in movement and the experience of it across visual mediums—from pop music and film to independent dance and contemporary art.
Drawing inspiration from nature, community, mathematics, and mysticism, Nathan creates and collaborates across a range of platforms, genres, and movement styles. His role shifts fluidly from project to project, but at the heart, he is guided by an inherent curiosity to uncover what is most authentic and uniquely special within something, and to find imaginative ways to reveal, amplify, and elevate those qualities.
His work can be seen in the feature film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, in collaborations for artists Charli XCX, Lady Gaga, Taeyang, and P!nk, as well as on Saturday Night Live and in projects presented at the Venice Biennale.
